About Casey

Primarily a self-taught artist, Casey explores her experiences through the engaging and often unpredictable print medium of monoprinting. She is most interested in the spiritual aspects that emerge in the image, particularly relating to how we live in the world and how the world lives in us. In the beginning the work may be a search for answers, but in the end it's more about being here without them.

Casey specializes in monoprints, which is a process using moistened paper with oil paint and/or etching inks. Casey may work on a theme which becomes a 10 to 15 piece collection. Each work is one of a kind, printed on archival 100% rag paper. Alternatively, digital images of each piece allow Casey to reproduce her pieces in larger sizes on different materials.

Her artwork is in private, corporate, healthcare, and hospitality collections, as well as on web designs. You are welcome in her Burlington, Vermont studio by appointment.

Casey’s Background

Casey spinning the wheel of the press to create a monoprint

Casey realized early on that she had a passion for creative exploration and expression. She began with drawing, painting, ceramics, batik, macrame, and glassblowing in her youth. She later turned to the world of "service" as a waitress, bartender, and restaurant manager having fun with food and people. The next phase involved the world of creative financing, psychology, and business in a successful 18 year career as a real estate broker and property investor.

After a long roundabout, Casey has returned to visual arts focusing on monoprinting and painting. During her travels, in her backyard or internationally, Casey considers no "found" object too grand or too insignificant to express spirit and soul in the printing medium (the only challenge being the US customs folks & the printing press).

Casey has had generous guidance at Carol MacDonalds print studio, Burlington City Arts, Shelburne Craft School, Vermont Studio Center, Penland, and from Lisa F. Beach.

In the past she has served as a Trustee for the Vermont Commons School.

Her many passions inform her work. Between the balancing act of family life, homemaking and art, Casey's passions extend to hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing, gardening, cooking, reading, spiritual well being, yoga, her friends and the design in all things.
